Sentence Manipulation: For this activity you will need to write a variety of sentences, without any ending punctuation, on sentence strips. You will also need to provide your child with manipulative ending punctuation marks (period, question mark, and exclamation point). Mix up the sentences and have your child pick one. Ask your child to read the sentence once to themselves and then once out loud to you. After they have read the sentence ask them to place the appropriate ending punctuation at the end of the sentence. After they have added the ending punctuation, discuss what type of sentence it is (statement, question, or exclamation).
